Overview

Atrazine-based herbicides are a budget-friendly option for broadleaf and crabgrass control specifically in centipede and St. Augustine lawns. Atrazine provides both pre-emergent and post-emergent activity, making it a dual-purpose product.

How It Works

Atrazine inhibits photosynthesis in susceptible weeds, causing them to yellow, brown, and die over 2-3 weeks. It also remains active in soil for several weeks, providing pre-emergent suppression of new weed germination.

Critical Grass Restriction

Atrazine is safe ONLY on centipede and St. Augustine. It WILL damage or kill bermuda, zoysia, bahia, and all cool-season grasses. This is the most important safety consideration — verify your grass type before applying.

Environmental Considerations
