How It Works

Like prodiamine, dithiopyr creates a soil barrier that prevents weed seed germination. Its distinguishing feature is early post-emergent activity: it disrupts cell division in very young crabgrass seedlings, providing a rescue window if you are 1-2 weeks late on application.

Why Choose Dimension Over Prodiamine

The shorter residual (60-90 days vs prodiamine’s 120 days) is actually an advantage if you plan to overseed in fall. The 3-4 month restriction before seeding is the shortest of any traditional pre-emergent.
