How It Works

Prodiamine creates a chemical barrier in the top layer of soil that prevents weed seeds from successfully germinating. It has one of the longest residual periods of any pre-emergent — approximately 120 days per application — meaning a single spring application can provide season-long protection against crabgrass, goosegrass, foxtail, and many broadleaf weeds.

Application

Mix the water-dispersible granules into water per label rates and apply with a pump sprayer or battery-powered backpack sprayer. Adding blue indicator dye helps track coverage and avoid missed spots or double-application. Water in within 14 days of application (rain counts).

Important Notes

Prodiamine blocks ALL seed germination, including desirable grass seed. Do not apply if you plan to overseed within the product’s residual period. If fall overseeding is planned, consider dithiopyr (Dimension 2EW) instead, which has a shorter residual.
